I swear. Rotor 36 vs nag 43.

It's like idiots play this game. The game is about full loot pk and the game is about rank disparity to keep numbers of overpowered combos down.
Everyone has heard of the fire giant of doom, when was the last human warrior of doom? What is one death when you have 60 more, and what is the loss of one item when you have plenty more? I might disagree in game with that new justice warrior kotel or whatever on RP grounds, but I agree with him outside the game. death is just death, people need to gtf over it.

For a little backstory. There was noone to rank with besides a berserker 7 ranks under me. I tell him to get protection. 4 minutes goes by without a response so I spell up, gate to him, and he's being led around in a group. when they get to the trail he goes to sleep. I start casting spells on him and I have no dupes because, hey, hes rank 36. I cast misdirection, terrain, shrink, flashfire, pretty much everything in the duration of two hours. He never wakes up and runs. I quaff a purple potion and cast illusion spectre and basically I could got afk, and of course he dies.

I loot a withering scythe and a gold scarab ring and an axe of mahn tor and put them on auction for really low prices. Everything else was on his corpse. Treant thew set. etc. He starts bitching about how I killed him very OOC'ly and then bids on his items to get them back. I tried to cancel the auctions because my thinking was if someone is really going to be that ungrateful, I should keep his weapons from him. But it was too late and the auction wouldn't let me cancel.

Anyway, Fheona comes on around this time and guild sits next to a justice, spending the minimum 4:30 or 5 minutes before logging off again. I go to darkhaven and try to set up for ranking and Rotor comes in and starts killing mirrors. He was using withering scythe and basically trying to unspeakable me with berserk + whatever else. He previously asked if I would kill him again and I simply told him his mouth is going to get him into trouble. I left him alone for a good 7 or 8 minutes so he's trying to get revenge.

My thought is "fuck this chode, if he wants to try to two round me because he's ungrateful about having all his items back, I'm going to kill him and take everything".

Meadow Lane
You are now walking along Meadow Lane, leading from the city centre to
the south gate. Torches stand ready to be lit when darkness comes, and many
people walk past about their business. The busy city centre is just to your
north, while to the east stands a large ornate building, very obviously a
temple of some sort. A small hovel stands to the west with awful
instrumental squawking noises coming from it. The road continues to the
south.

This is another part of Meadow Lane. Further north is the busy city
centre, which people are walking to and from past you, and a large ornate
building that must be a temple. There is a shop to your west with many an
animal cry emanating from it. You don't need the sign bearing animals
hanging above the door to know this is a pet shop. A number of torches
stand cold at the side of the road, ready to be lit when needed. The road
continues southward.

A large flight of steps can be seen to your west, leading up to a large
building that has the look of a town hall. In an effort to bring some
beauty to the city, a wonderfully landscaped garden lies to the east, with
multitudes of flowers and trees, plants and small animals. You suspect the
Rangers have had a hand in it, since like other gardens around the city
this one appears to have any and everything that will grow in this area in
it. The road continues south and north, but you spot a small alley to
the east.

designed than the larger park. The south gate of the city lies close by,

You have reached the south gate of the city. As with all the gates, it
is guarded by members of the city guards. Different assortments of people
and races wander in and out of the gates, heading into the city or out
into the world. The gates themselves are large and very heavy, but can be
locked if the need arises. Large torches can be lit at night to illuminate
the gate, allowing the guards to keep an eye on everyone. You can leave
the city to the south or head into it northwards.

What is wrong with people that play? They act like getting killed is an unconscionable world ending calamity.

Don't run your mouth and then try to kill someone who just leaves you alone. I'd have no patience for that from an character or player perspective, especially since bitching ooc is a player problem.

He died once and got all his stuff back easily after paying some gold. All he got set back was a little gold and one death. It was practically a no-consequence death. People who die afk and get all their stuff back should never flip out. I'd be happy for imms to start slaying and full looting afk players until people stop bitching like over-privileged whiners. see DK posts to know what i'm talking about.

I'd actually prefer two good roleplayers who don't go OOC rage because of death opposed to 50 emotionally blackmailing douchebag players.

    OH DAAAYYMMNNNN...

I must say though people are going to complain regardless. It is competetive nature. I'm not taking a side I am just saying regardless of how long this game has been or is around you will ALWAYS have players like this. On the flip side you'll always have players who are just douches in general.

What's equally suprising is that Rotor got to rank 36 without being asked to change his name.
  4. morgit I swear. Rotor 36 vs nag 43. -
OOC bitching about getting killed is one of my biggest pet peves. FUll loot away, you've got my support. I'd be happy with an imm slay afterwards just to hammer the point home. Not sure why Rotor decided to rage there, unless he just wanted to die...
  5. Nadrin I swear. Rotor 36 vs nag 43. -
lol. I tend to go for the second kill if someone talks crap about my killing them unless its obvious they are just trying to rp. Looting depends on why I killed someone, and what the rp of the current character Im playing is. I surely have deleted because I lost my sweet suit before, but Always on a new character immidiatly and having fun. Its hilarious how bad some of these people get. Paewyn, and Rotor sound a lot alike. Have fun ranking alone? lol. Plenty of people to rank with if your patient, and most of them arent nearly as annoying as people like Paewyn or Rotor. Unless you count narcana's characters. Rofl. God I need a fire giant for some trash killing... haha

sorry but it just gets to me when people do this. I can understand the feeling of being afk killed. But if I do it, I either try to get revenge or move on an accept it as my fault.

Most newbie would probably be too ignorant to feel any sort of loss.

While this could be grand study into the effects of loss and detriment to those who are ignorant (they don't perceive much, if any loss, and receive much less distress and it has a much shorter duration), to those who perceive the value of something to be very high/believe its loss is very damaging, i.e. the so called "initiated" or "fully understanding", proving that suffering and pain from experience is based on a matter of belief, dealing with the personalities personally just really gets my goat, that is if Torkalen didn't get it first.
  10. Nadrin I swear. Rotor 36 vs nag 43. -
I agree with you completly Nag. Its very satisfying to find that you have been afk killed and looted only to come back and kill them in lion crested or guild issue and get all your stuff back... lol
  11. TheNags I swear. Rotor 36 vs nag 43. -
Well its just one more method of people deferring their responsibility onto others.

this game is a "kill the other guy" game pure and simple. RP is the finer points and intricate developments of how it gets done. But all games are conflict and conquer or fail. This being a full loot PK game with lots of ways to get huge advantages on opponents, not least of which by simply picking human shaman or warrior and getting the level difference for cheap laughs, and I expect to die and lose everything every time I log on.

I never really developed an attitude where gear means everything. The only issue for me is the time spent, but if you just guild issue you're pretty set for doing whatever until you get bored and use that boredom time for getting your EQ back.

with enough money and some good gambled eq pieces, I'd probably PK nearly naked.

The gear loss is the only thing I could imagine being very very upset over, because it represents losing your time and having it swallowed up. But this is the kind of game it is. Any zero-sum game is the same, such as football, etc. second place doesn't get a trophy. Its not the destination, it's the journey.

If the journey no longer satisfies, Im sorry to say maybe another game is in order for said person(s).

Point is noone should fly off the handle and be a douche OOC. if you play this game and want to play it, and you know what going AFK means, you should accept if anything goes wrong. I've almost been pked because I looked away from the screen for 30 seconds on characters that live or die by reputation (pkers).
  12. Nadrin I swear. Rotor 36 vs nag 43. -
Yep been there done that. Gear used to be hugely important to me. That was before I became good enough to just let someone else get it and kill them for it myself. It comes and goes. I think taelrask got completly decked and lost it all only to get it back in a day or two maybe 10 or 15 times? Gear is a tool, you should have the means to be effective without it.
