symbols. Some strange force is at work here, giving long life to these
surroundings.

A steep incline of rock prevents you from moving further eastward. The
rock is unusually smooth, as though it were done by hand. The trees
surrounding you are as immense as the rest of the forest if not larger. As
you look closer, you notice small mysterious symbols etched around the base
of the enormous trees that border along the incline. What life was visible
before, have avoided this section of the woods.

I had 30 damroll. I do dismember to massacre as part of my normal routine against unsanc.
I'm doing injures to a sanc paladin.
They should be at least decimates, as he does disembowel when I don't have sanc and decimates and devistates when I do.

should have higher hp, although I calculated out my hp gains/level and came up with 14.25 hp/level, I sunk every spare train into hp to come up with the measly 607 hp @36.
A decent high avg weapon in the serin sword.
I deleted him and I'm taking a long break. I maximized my chances in every way and he comes away with A Few Wounds when he should arguably have less health, and where he has me to awful.
he didn't even hit me very often. I'm frustrated by this and its not fun knowing you will die if you try to attack someone you should have the statistical advantage over and are making use of combat module skills and still get spanked.

I hit with damage equivalent to giants. Regular dismembers and massacres on mobs. fight a paladin, injures.
If there isn't something seriously wrong with that, then there's at least something seriously wrong with the game balance, where a paladin can tank damage as if you're wearing worn steel

The same thing has happened to me before when I pimped vs a ninja at low rank. I really doubt that it's the AC. it provides SOME damage reduction, like turning a high DISMEMBER into a low DISMEMBER, maybe even a high DISEMBOWEL. It doesn't do more than that. Otherwise you'd see people whoring AC all over the place, which they don't.

Is it possible an IMP is wrong? Yes, but highly unlikely.
Mistakes:
You are using sword vs sword vs a paladin who probably has it mastered, you dual wield bullwhip that you have semi-practiced.
Instead of murder-flee, you stay in fight and do next to nothing but try to hobble before your combat advantage even goes through (note it takes a cpl of rounds).
You spam barrage instead of utilizing it, once is enough if you plan to stay in combat.
You don't even have combat styles in prompt, thus your fail sideswipe against his shield. You can't AFFORD to make so many mistakes and still think you can win a fight vs a decent opponent.
Cut that in half and you have maul-decimate. Yet as you see, wounds and injures, when damroll went UP from last time.
I'd suggest much of what bah has stated. -33% Damage reduction plus -50% reduction adds up to about -88% reduction. (Not sure if it actually that simple)
Also as stated before, Serin longsword is too wide a range for a decent weapon. It's damage is stretched too far for the level you're fighting at.

Look at the hp values. It wasn't even a close fight to a 4 rank higher warrior with max healed hp to a paladin who went sword and board and got barraged.
Tell you what. I'll roll a paladin and use a purple and protection and log the damage differential from mobs.
Not that mobs have the same str/hit/dam as players, but that the damage reduction should be consistent. If I return with a dismembering mob producing only injures with holy armor, protection, and sanc up, then I will gladly concede your points. However, at 30 damage roll, I should've been doing FAR more damage than I was.
How does this grab you? I was considering a fire giant 2 levels under me and had superior damage and equal hitting, and equal weapon.
And you can't really say the Serin is inconsistent. Do you mean to say that it's damage is too average and not enough high/low burst, such as 2d14? because we can clearly see from this log, not one hit went above wound, and most of them were wound, but it dropped to injures at the end.
Bah nailed it when he listed your mistakes. not to mention, your weapon only hit him 8 times in this log. The pally hit you 50% more than you hit him.
If he wasn't hasted, and you made better decisions in battle, you could have won.
When you realize your butt is getting kicked, run. Dont stay in battle. You have to give yourself a little health to run with, that way you dont eat one murder and die.
Instead, you stayed in the fight, aura fell, and you died.

These characters are probably in at least a base of 30 damroll and are doing as much damage as you claim to be doing.
A major fault in your logic is: "well it works like this against unsanced, un-protectioned mobs." Try fighting some mobs with sanctuary (guards in New Thalos) or mobs with sanctuary and protection (I can't think of any off the top of my head) and then you can start to compare to damage with players.
100 dmg minus 33% minus 50% = 33.5 damage dealt.
You did like what, 50 damage per hit tops to paladin, which would be 16.75 dmg, which quietly nicely shows in damage as well.
