Apparently Valox either had no javelins, or he hasn't mastered quick volley?
  2. oreno Moral of the story. -
how many logs do you need to learn never to dual wield against a ranger, especially when u are susceptible to dirt kick. Never two hand against a ranger, just use a damn shield and keep weapon advantage.
  3. vendert Moral of the story. -
look on the bright side you got him down to small wounds and bruises. Also there is a reason why I don't challenge him.
  4. Jluppy Moral of the story. -
they have as much health as warriors with pets and great dual wield and bow skills for the easy barrage switch. How can using a shield be a win scenario against someone with more attacks and pets on top..
  5. clawron Moral of the story. -
Rangers own and I bet they will be buffed even further.
  6. TheNags Moral of the story. -
Rangers are frequently used by trashy players for good reason. Low experience cost, cheese level hiding, good weapons and skills to use them with. I'm not saying Valox or Jaux are trashy, but a ranger, especially human, is one of the few classes you go for to be trashy. Shaman is a second trasher.
  7. bah Moral of the story. -
    Your whip wounds someone.

Get some fucking eq, you cant say "OMG RANGERS R OP" if you are wearing a fucking guild-issue or some shit vs full rares/uniques. You are the trashnoobs who can't even find eq, instead you keep SUICIDING and then CRYING about it. Fuck off crybabies, go get owned more!
  8. TheNags Moral of the story. -
rangers are just op learn to accept it
  9. Groq Moral of the story. -
Anyone wanting to make a ranger for Legion has to pick human because human is the only race for an evil ranger.
  10. Frostburns Moral of the story. -
I'd say thief is another trashy class. All you need is mastered blackjack and the skills to take things away (pilfer, steal, pry) to really annoy people. Rogue skills on top of that make them pretty strong, but few people play them. I've only played two thieves, but they're pretty fun.
  11. ergorion Moral of the story. -
I could see dual wielding against a ranger. If you switch between defensive and two-hander and catch him in defensive, a quick barrage would do pretty good things. Most likely, they'll be overeager to bow-rape your ass that they'll spam it and get arm distension. Valox, maybe not, but other rangers probs.
  12. Kurlson Moral of the story. -
Frostburn what is your comments about Javelins? he didn't volley... He kicked dirt like he always does rofl
  13. Frostburns Moral of the story. -
Kurlson> I meant Hebleon fleeing and Valox didn't throw any at him after the first round (if you look closely, Valox is wearing a shield because he blocked attacks.)
  14. Kurlson Moral of the story. -
    Gotcha
  15. oreno Moral of the story. -
by using shield block you force the ranger to dual wield or simply stay with shield block as well. I would hope at 50 you have would most of your d in the 90's which would increase your potential to survive the fight. You want the ranger to make the mistake or lag himself.

In this case as a ranger hunting someone they know is expecting a fight they will be in shield block mode to begin so the ranger should be dual wielding or playing it safe and shield block. Lets say he uses shield block, ranger dirts you sees the weapon status and makes the change as a warrior you can either try to dirt back or just bash him.

In this log it proves my point, valox initiated with shield block, the warrior changed styles hoping to hit barrage, but why would you flee and switch weapons you know he will initiate with dirt and immediately switch to bow. Or like in this case Valox switched to dual wield style.

Most people play in a predictable manner switch it up don't switch to what they have switch to what you think they will switch to. He tried to barrage wasted the command and got owned by a bow.

The pets at 50 don't really do much unless its a grizzly the damage does add up but if you extend the fight rangers lose pets along the way and usually fight you with just 1 anyway.

Anyone who has a warrior, use a shield with javelins and a spear, fake like you dual wield but switch back to a shield and sideswipe them to death. If you are just married to your shield I guarantee you will make the fight a lot closer, then it will come into how good of a tracker you are. BTW hobble is useless on a ranger because they can just switch styles, normally you won't be able to hobble and dirt in the same round so don't even bother with that.
  16. Kurlson Moral of the story. -
In the case of Valox, he dirts you (lands 9/10 times) and then he will disarm you. That is his primary strategy. I have found that initiating wearing a shield and just trying to second guess what style he is going to use (water cube usually in my case) being superior and getting the disarm of first. He will dirt me, I'll disarm him. He will flee and run away... lol
  17. bah Moral of the story. -
Fight in cities, rangers have craptastic time dirting people in rooms flagged as "inside" or "city", use that to your advantage, or fight on water instead. If you invade him and force him to fight in Darkhaven, he is severly disadvantaged due pets leaving and dirt kicking failing.

People just need to know better of what they are doing - weapon style switching, gearing properly and using other such things.

It seems to me that everyone wants to win but is too lazy to put any thought into it (or effort).
  18. Kurlson Moral of the story. -
Meh, most of my personal fights with valox end up me being forced to be the aggressor, because of his refusal to fight in an area where he is disadvantaged. If I just sat in town all day long, Valox wouldnt invade on me or do anything to draw me out because of the gear similarities and the problems he has with me in the forest :P
