lets assume he took obsidian stuff. His Vs Magic will still be at -81 or whatever your AC is at his level, for a race with 16 dex.
What if he took regal radiance? Same thing. His Vs P, B, S, might be up to 200 due to AC multiply by slot. He is still going to have -81*L35 AC for magic.
flame weapons do magic damage. He is not protected from magic damage at all. Flame weapons will do more than physical weapons, even if you take away his resistance to physical weapons.

Summary:

Says nothing about protection. Unholy strength sure isn't a paladin's divine might, which reverses the protection spell, as opposed to simply adding more damage as a base. I imagine a paladin and a dark-knight with identical equipment the paladin would do better. (if you could give them equivalent weapons roughly. Paladin w/ Sword of the Sun and dark-knight with Mourneblade for instance, both 28 average two-handed swords. Let's say the dark-knight has already slain two opponents so the weapons are both 2/2. The paladin can ignore the protection spell of the dark-knight, but the dark-knight has no such luxury. Even if say, the dark-knight had the blood-filled voulge and the paladin had the centurion's polearm (with a human dark-knight since a drow would stand no chance), the paladin will likely do better.)
Chomryul, you really should try listening to people and quit ignoring them. I can name a couple of people who do what you do, and chances are that you might be one of them.
frost unholy strength is like the reverse of divine might except unholy is only its fullest damage against pals and healers whereas divine might can work against anyone using protection spells.
There are fair points made here. If you're going to chastise someone, at least use some evidence or facts like digging up some old logs or providing numbers. One side of this argument is doing that and the other is using extremely vague and nebulous theorycraft. I have to disagree with frost and tyrz unless they offer the same amount of evidence other than simply saying "you're wrong and here's my personal feelings without any evidence or facts involved".

Now, when reading that, it seems even more evident that 40ish damroll should not be doing wimpy amounts of damage to a giant. I think I side firmly with the claim made at this point.
Which means that you hit clerics as if you did not have unholy strength up because it does not boost past protection, it just deals extra damage to everyone. Protection still reduces damage against them.
Divine might cancels protection.
Unholy strength gives the same boost as divine might against all targets, making protection null on pals and clerics.
unholy strength then adds extra damage on top of that.
