Western Main Street
This is the western part of Main Street, which runs between the east
and west gates through the centre of the city. Just to your east is the
busy city centre, and many people pass you on their way to it. To the
north is a stone wall, solid and impenetrable. South lies a small building
with many wooden boats standing outside it, and the sign of a shipwright
hanging above the door. You can continue down the street to the west.

City Centre of Timaran
You have entered the busy centre of Timaran. All around you people bustle
about their daily routine, smiling and laughing or walking by silently on
business. You see many buildings close by, mostly made of sold grey stone
with tiled roofs. A beautifully carved marble fountain dominates the centre
of the square, spraying water gently into the air in graceful arches. Often
used as a meeting place, people stand around or sit on the benches nearby
discussing various things or just generally relaxing. A few children, out
from the watchful eye of their parents, splash each other in the fountains
basin. Unlit torches stand in holders at various points of the square, so
that even at night the activity may continue unabated. Just to your south
is a large temple, and two others can be seen to the west and northeast.
Exits lead in all directions to other parts of the city.

Travellers Way
This straight road runs from the north gate to the centre of the city. It
used to be called the Dragon Road, but in honor of the highly successful
Travellers Rest on this street it was renamed. Torches stand unlit in rungs
attached to the walls, ready to be lit when darkness falls. Citizens and
travellers bustle past going about their business, on occasion running into
each other as they are absorbed in their thinking. To your west a plain grey
building with bars on the windows is visible. Over the door hangs a sign
bearing the scales of Justice. To the east is a smallish stone building with
a sign depicting a crossed sword and dagger over the door. A few weapons
can also been seen through the windows. The road heads north towards the
northern gate, and just to the south is the busy city centre.

You have entered the city jailhouse, home for any wrong-doers caught
breaking the law. The furnishings are sparse and stark, with the only
seating being a chair stood behind a large wooden desk. One or two
pictures of criminals being brought to justice add a small spot of color
to an otherwise bare room. The solid stone walls are thick and unyielding,
and even in here the windows have stout iron bars in them. To the north
are the cells, while you can enter the street to the east.

The cells are basically iron cages, designed to keep anyone from escaping
once they are put in. There are no windows, to make sure there are no weak
spots for prisoners wishing escape to work on. Torches light the room day
and night, but provide little warmth in the cold stone room. Each cell has
a small cot for prisoners to sleep on, covered by a few blankets. There is
also a small pot for doing "business" in when needed. It is somewhat
smelly in here. South is your only exit, returning to the main part of the
jail.

    Its really quite obvious that your new here, and that enthusiasm that you have is quite refreshing, but really I dont see anything out of place here...

    hitting a vuln there, no sanc, going to do a crap load of damage to you.

    against a paladin, your an illithid ill, at a very none niche level, paladins get protection and aura, that evil dupe(because they are your align) isnt going to do near as much damage, as against a low lvl mob.

    You want to start winning, hit your niche, lvl 40 ill, they get there second dupe and a much large array of possible op duplicates. mid 30's your going to get your arse kicked by everyone and there dog. most casters get more powerful the higher the level.

    illusionists, especially illithids, get better at 40 and then way better at 50. You'll have a much higher health pool and about 5 times the damage output, while people won't be hitting much harder than this guys does to you at 31

    I suppose it's also based on the enlarge spell buffing damroll more at high ranks for illusions as well

    Even without enlarge, you're going from one illusion doing 2 DISMEMBERS at 35, to 3 illusions doing 3 MANGLES at 50. ~110 damage to ~600, before defenses

    Illu defenses are pretty bad. It's a weak parry. As an illu, you have the ability to pump out a ton of damage at one time when you reach pinnacle and it's a question of can you keep on someone fast enough before your dupes fade. Or, can you sucker them in and create your army on the fly. But you're going to get kills when you start getting more than one dupe.

    Thats why I mastered h2h and got parry to 97%, but even with that and 4 rank advantage it didn't help very much, hah.
