(((Little bit of history. Kali and I have been fighting for about an hour.
Trading back and forth, with one very close call on my part, trapped between
Kali and an angry mob unable to recall at less than 200 hp. Anyway, he starts
talking to me, so I go with it. Let's goad him a bit see what he does...)))

| A path diverts around the graves, but deep tracks have
| been lazily grooved into their surface. In the centre
| of this place, the tombstones line up neatly side by side.

| their feet would be facing away from the middle. Some
| of the tombstones have developed crack markings in their
| surface from age. All of them are nameless, simply signifying
| that something lies beneath. The centre grave appears

next resident. Deep, thick scratch markings on its surface also suggest its
former inhabitant has woken from the eternal slumber and got back out.

          1. Yeah illus and necros are tough for shamans. At this point I thought Kali/Dogran was just OOC friends record padding, right?
            1. That's not very nice. This was a log of mostly me getting spanked, it was just too long and eye bleedy to post the whole thing. I only posted the last engagement after goading him into going all or nothing. Realistically he should have gotten the hell outta dodge instead of staying to risk it.

            4. I definitely goaded him with my roleplay to get him to act the way he did. It wasn't smart choices, but I get making decisions based on roleplay. Respect it a lot actually, to be able to say my character is going to act like this even if it costs me and then sticking to it.

            6. I could definitely play very conservatively and focus on survival and increasing my ratings. I choose not to do that, and rather embrace the RP with Kali. He is impetuous, reckless, devoted, passionate and he can be very foolish. There was no real necessity to invade on the guardian, but Kali was really mad so he did it twice (getting a bit beaten up in the process). It made no sense to stay and fight when he was already starting so far behind in this log (wounded, needed new dupes), but that’s just how Kali operates. He’s not afraid of a challenge.

              Sometimes he wins, sometimes he loses, but he will never back down. I will stick to the RP even if it means dying and getting looted, and I will not complain.

          2. I watched this for a while before I got really bored and tuned out, because it felt like watching the same video game cut-scene over and over. Its tiresomely predictable.

            Here's the sequence. An illusionist wearing highly defensive gear (hp/armor/saves/staff) grabs dupes. Full marines, hastes them, hastes himself, enters a cabal alert zone (game rules enforce a response), escapes the decked player who he just almost beat down, then retreats to heal up rapidly with slow spell. Lather, rinse and repeat. You'll be back before the other player has fully healed up, especially if they try looking for you.

            It's literally an endless cycle, and its gets the player to overlook that by having extremely quick regeneration and not really punishing failures. Setting up another raid with memorize + group gate is nice and quick, with no extra BS like walking to get new dupes, walking dupes to Darkhaven, or even attempting an actual cabal raid. That's fun to do 100+ times because the fun part is owning someone with your dupes. That is what makes illusionists a fun class to play and keeps the player strongly motivated despite being repetitive AF. If I make dupes easy to pop this class is dead
            1. A lot of classes have good counters for illusionist. I feel bad for warriors, rangers, thieves, and shadows particularly. Everyone else just has to play it smart.

              Neither of us could land spells Davairus. He landed one blind, I failed a ton of dispel, terrain, and slows. Do you want me to play a different way? If you suggest a different strategy, I will happily try it. I have already thought of one different thing to try against Dogran.

              With slow I regen like 50hp/tic. Elf con isn’t great. It felt like Dogran had time to regen between fights.

              Seemed like dupes were popping here and there with earthquake.
            3. Earthquake doesn't hit flying targets and there are avian dupes you dont use.
            4. I re-read and noticed you seem to be misconstruing things I said, personalizing them. Let me clarify this is a criticism of the game. Not you.. I really don't give a fuck about who did what here. I'm just talking about the illusionist class. Its really lame to be on the receiving end of, unless you have a thing to pop, which is also really lame to be on the receiving end of. As far as all the other spells goes, you barely need dupes to kill a melee with an illusionist, you just need to slow them, and its a maledictive which is probably one of the most foolish decisions a designer has made in the history of gaming.
