      good, reliable sustained dps to wear down even giants. Good defenses with extra damage absorb. Now all kinda damage resists baked into styles. Still a decent sustain with heals.
      Nerve pinch ain't nothing to scoff at either but most importantly, Leopard style being really tough to hit through even with advantages, no way to nerf its defense with skills or hitroll it seems.

      I saw Norkana go from awful hp vs few wounds warrior to awful - awful in a duel just because warrior was not unable to hit through leopard. They already had resist physical in def stance and now they get a bunch of other resists too making weapon choices even more limited as most magic weapons are energy (turmoil) and they got a stance to resist that too.

      So unless you are a pimped out serk or warrior e.g. a current warlord it seems to be impossible to beat down a monk atm.

      And I think many people still dont understand how to play vs a monk either, because this paladin kept using holy weapon vs leopard. But even then, you can use fire and still get leopard paw to the kidney 100 times :D

      I was about to hang myself from a tree when she asked about a duel. I figured I may as well have a fight before I died (likely the only fight of my life). I had all physical weapons so I went to get a crusader sword - a fitting weapon for a final fight.

      Monks are only OP against mobs and mages, thieves and shadows. Its a tough win against everything else that can stack ac and maintain combat advantage by switching weapons . They also require a boatload of training to be effective. If you're having problems with Leopard, dual wield magic weapons. Healing is so easily interrupted too. They are fun, but I wouldn't say OP.

      I'm inclined to agree with both Tearea and twerpalina here. I don't think monks are OP, but it doesn't quite seem to me that they're working as intended. I've given my opinion on what would fix this before (pre-patch monk discussion on the forums). And I stand by it now. Only addendum is that I think the changes with weapon style advantage / disadvantage should get rolled back. I'd like to hear Tearea's comments on what they think of these, since she's got a lot of hours under both systems now.

      sorry, this "sustained dps" isn't very convincing. warriors do what, warcry themselves? free hitroll they just always have. people complain about the ac reduction of deteriorate, but warcry has the same impact on a fight as that. and then they berserk on top of that too. i can see leopard style being frustrating, but what seals the deal for monks is probably more that they have the tools to drag the fight out (mobility skills and healing) and beat you down gradually with double kick, and that playstyle is accentuated by but does not require leopard style

      The weapon advantage system that was implemented is very neat looking on paper, but in reality rarely gets used. Most times its a choice between style advantage and weapon advantage and style trumps weapon. The resists are the most useful tool to use. Sometimes the heavens open up and you're able to line up both(Looking at you Tiger style vs Torments Shaman). Also you have to remember a huge amount of paper-rock-scissors knowledge along with knowing what weapon your opponent is using to be able to leverage it. Against a warrior who is constantly swapping weapons it is a nightmare. I think the system is just fine. If anything maybe simplify it to have styles give you one of two advantages: physical or magical instead of specific damage type. This would give monks something to chew on against magical weapons. You could then possibly leverage both style and weapon advantage because it would be easy to split them between the three styles.

      Why do they need resistance to physical and magical though? As it stands they have resistance to physical but it’s not like they have a vuln to magic right?

      The resist to physical is due to iron body, I would say give them a chance to swap over to magic resist with an actual shot at maintaining style superiority. Right now you have the option of swapping to a style that gives you weapon advantage over their weapon(with a 2/3 chance of not being advantaged in style and your opponent can just swap to style advantage), going to panda for elemental and pierce resists and again being pigeonholed into two-handed style.

      But why do they need a magic resist? They are neutral against magic and resistant to physical currently right? Neutral to magic like every other class? Do they need a defensive buff like that? I am not saying they should be needed at all or anything. I’m just wondering if magic resist is really necessary. You would know way better than me though.

      I guess I could get on board with iron body reducing all incoming damage if it also took away kicks. Having to keep your feet on the ground would work from the tai chi energy flow perspective. Open to doing this

      Maybe not as huge of a buff as it currently is against physical? Doing wounds with a big damroll vs physical is pretty rough. Would probably be basically impossible to beat a monk if it was that strong against everything.
