Before Thera

Pleban was small even in a small town. He was often overlooked at family events and even family members who did notice him often had a hard time remembering his name growing up. The only time people paid any attention to him is when it came to the annual village wide hide and seek game. Every year Pleban participated in the event he was the victor. One year in his best hiding spot of years past looking out over the valley he saw combat ensuing down below. Heads rolling off shoulders evil and light clashing spells and weapons through the daylight. To get a better look he snuck into the field without being noticed. What was noticed was from Pleban and the amount of riches that people were just leaving behind unwatched. So he pilfer'd, stole, and looted his way through the battlefield still without being seen. He approached the tent and was suddenly grabbed from inside Pleban gasped as a heavy armored hand appeared from within the tent snatching him up. He said little thief what have you done here today. The Halfling was not punished for stealing what he did but rewarded. The Dark Leader said "I will use you for my will and fetch for me their documents." Upon doing so with ease the Dark Leader gave Pleban a sense of freedom and appreciation for his unique gift. Pleban took his bounty and went into a new city to hone and train his talents of Shadow and Stealth always thinking back about the time when he was being awarded for doing bad things.
