The journey begins
I was born west of The holy grove surrounded by the beautiful peace and tranquility of the forest. My earliest memories are of the gong of the temple I grew up in. Raised by the monks my brothers and sisters were trained to in the ways of the balance. From an early age, I learned to defend myself against extreme odds and deal with overwhelming circumstances. No matter the weather my fathers and older brothers would train us in the art of war. We would practice our forms and chant our prayers to bring harmony within our soul. In the summer time various travelers would come to our temple for our martial arts demonstrations and to participate in a tournament for children and adults. I was selected to represent our temple. I was pitted against a giant among giants. This minotaur dug her hooves into the ground and charged wildly at me. I utilized my ability to strike like a leopard and blocked her attacks. We battled and battled finally leaving the minotaur stunned clutching her chest spent with rage. I loved the roar of the crowd and the attention victory brought. After the games I told my brothers I venture on to find others that share in my dreams of winning the grand tournament of champions.

Surprise surprise I made this character to try and see if I could improve from Jinpa. I felt I learned a few new things that make monks pretty interesting but all in all the 4 classes I find nearly impossible to overcome really make a fight feel one sided. Berserkers, dark knights, paladins, necros as everyone I am sure can imagine. I think against the rest of the group monks have a decent shot at winning any fight, but those 4 classes im sorry but I do feel it is imbalanced. If the heal was reduced to no lag you would have a much better chance, but then it would make it unfair against the rest of the classes not listed.

The obvious sentiment is heal heal heal, but a zerker only has to mania rage walk in boom devastate bodyslam nite nite. I personally don't like characters that require more effort than the guy i am fighting. With Dkns their heal is right at the beginning during a fight and they hit extremely hard plus mals and aff spells. I know in a few of my duels I could ahve done a few things differently to make the fights closer, but I don't think it would make a difference between winning and losing.

Also Deimus called me out in game saying Hello ozaru which really killed it for me there as well. All in all I won't make a monk again, their are classes that are harder to play but the pay off is much greater. And their are classes easier to play and the pay off is much greater. Wish I didn't make a monk.

Ozaru, I fail to see how you can list paladin as a class that you can't beat as a NEUTRAL monk, hehe.

You did good job, selfish as fuck, but good character. Btw, I told Deimus who you are after you outed yourself by ooc trashtalking to me after I killed your necro. You were whining that I killed your monk's training dummy twice and everyone in this game is an asshole. If you don't wish people to know who you are, dont go on ooc rage like I also do.

I definitely hope to see more of you, just PLEASE not another keeper ranger, maybe a legion or knight, someone to PK with or against would be really cool, I like your attitude in PK definitely.

And monks are boring as fuck, really annoying that you never have any burst damage and are reliant only on people to stay and die, damage is consistent but it's really really low that you can't even take full advantage of sanc-drops.

That's why I also deleted Rogon, I had probably the best possible monk gear in the game, peaking 72 damroll on tiger stance or 72 hitroll on crane stance, did little difference really. Went to solo a shadowspawn in Shadun, was killing it literally for like 30 minutes irl in a row.

Monks don't scale well at all and are too boring to play if you are into PK.

You know I've heard issues about DK and made a tweak in there myself. I think something is up, probably with their shield. But I really dont see why youre complaining about berserker mania. All you have to do is land a snake form kick. The applied slow takes away their mania attacks...

As for not doing enough damage, scaling or whatever you said, they gain the exact same benefit from hit/dam as everybody else, deal the same # of attacks each round, and are basically given free damroll via tiger style and free weapons (fists)

What were so horrible about my comments that you put them waiting for validation? I complimented Ozaru and pointed out that monks are dull for PK, that's all.

Something is really bugged with DK shield, I dont wanna speak of it here but I think there's a pretty hefty bug going on with it right now.

Can you do the same thing nyc posted with a berserker vs a monk in horse stance. I really want to see you beat a zerker with a monk. It doesn't even have to be consistently ill take 25 percent of the time. But I will tell you that when i played my monks as an average player and the people i fought against didn't strike me as elite the fights I lost were far from close.

kehriyl and a few others do alright against zerkers, a large part being where you fight them and leopard style
