Kali vs Chul - worse than abduction

After the Kali/Dogran/Chul fight, Dogran left and then it was just two. We passed some words back and forth. Kali was considering his course - what to do? He knows if he remains a criminal, people very important to him may likely be drawn into this conflict. Should he turn himself in? Of course not, he is no coward. If Kali is going to die, he is going to die fighting. He may have died in this fight, but at least he walked away learning something very important - Chul had gotten a promotion at some point.


My buffer sucks. Prior to this we were fighting in dankbark and he was pretty hurt and I had only a flesh wound, so he recalled and I chased him.

| The guildhall of Necromancers would probably be consider
| morbid to most people, but to the Necromancers themselves
| it suits them perfectly. Paintings of undead creatures
| and magically animated creations abound, along with several

| || in here is awful, but since they work with the creatures
+ +-+| the Necromancers no long seem to notice. A large table
| || stands here, surrounded by chairs for guild meetings
+-+-+-+-+| or general chatting on the best ways to animate corpses
---------+ and so forth. To the west you can hear a dreadful moaning
as trainees practice their new-found skills on the bodies of the fallen. You
may leave the guildhall and return to the city southwards.

by more of the white glowing balls of light that are to be found outside. You
can return to the street out the exit to the north.

Outside the East Gate of Timaran
| An incredibly wide and dull-looking sea of dirty green water
| expands out in a massive stretch across the large space to
| the right of you. It looks like there is no way that anybody
| could possibly fly across such a large and dangerous sea,
+-+-@ | especially when considering the thunderous waves being lashed
| | into the air by a dangerous storm. The ground just besides
| the gate stops suddenly at a cliff-face, overlooking an enormous
| and tear-jerking dive into the freezing cold waters beneath
| the town of Timaran. A small and boring path leads off south
---------+ of here, towards a strange arcane circle that stands out rather
unremarkably as an old landmark. Someone has painstakingly straightened the
sides of this path out with a trowel, cutting a perfect line. Whoever did this
work was wasting a lot of time trying to impress the apparent importance of
this unimportant place.

  2. Man that dirt/sanc drop timing at the end sucked.
    Also, the amount of healing the Chul gets off always seems impressive to me. Damn shadow healing.
    1. What impresses me is still his dirt. Flying is the one defense against it and it didn't seem to help much here or anecdotally in my other fights.
    2. Rogue dirt is strong. Max dex rogue dirt is godlike.

    4. You're probably on to something there Bladefury. Except that there are logs showing Chul has 850 hp. Which imo is not shit at all. That's more hp than half of my current characters. All of them with more con than a drow lol.

      But yeah even monk dirt kick is much worse than drow shadow. Drow shadow dirt is best in game. Lasts for an epically(read: obnoxiously) long time. High dex increasing successful dirt makes sense. How it increases duration idk lol.

  4. Unrelated to the log (but related to Justice in general and mostly Chul more specifically)... Why have I been seeing Justice members in the Room of Induction (which is inside the cabal) for extended periods lately when there is no invasion in progress? Wouldn't that break section number 2 of the rules of general cabal conduct (encouraging attacks on the cabal, loitering)?
    1. Used to be the case, not sure if Justice still has to follow those rules or not. He sits there for hours on ends hoping the priest will cast bless on him for that extra bit of buff.
    2. Well it is unrealistic to put a mob casting level 50 bless inside a cabal and then say do not sit in it. We moved the shops outside for the same reason, and it took a lot more work than this will. Also, just a reminder that calling out players here is against the rules, and you shouldn't be doing that here. What you could have done instead is just report the priest as a bug to be fixed. It is something that could be moved to religion shrines, sold in Seringale, or just retired.
    3. Yeah why does Justice get a mob that casts spells at all? I'm not aware that other cabals get it. Just more OP Justice shit to make up for the fact that they have to use special guards. Wait that doesn't make sense.
      To make up for the fact that they get a free safe haven sanctuary in multiple towns in game. Wait that doesn't make sense either.

    4. Its just how the cabals are.

      legion = the "kill everyone" cabal
      knights = the "kill the kill everyone" cabal
      heralds = the newbies / rp'ers cabal
      justice = the imms/teachers pets OP cabal
      warlords = duel and a hug version of legions
    5. Just an idea here: Why not have temple guardians casting spells, and put some emphasis on religion and giving reasons to sit in temple etc.

    8. Well anyway, I think removal is our best bet for this one. AR has a steep learning curve already, and people can't magically know all this stuff. We need to weigh having a level playing field against the important advantage of deeper mastery of AR. It does not seem like it takes exactly a high level of skill to sit by a mob and get blessed. That is just completely for noobs. It would be nice if the mudschool adepts cast it.
