I’ve even seen veterans act like this more often lately (just to preemptively cut off any complaints, I think we can all agree that it’s obvious when you go to bat against a veteran player) Maybe it’s always been prevalent, and I just happen to be playing more aggro characters lately. But it’s really shocked me and turned me off of the game when I land a clean kill on someone, only for them to act like a bag of salt.

0 , 0 , 0 . Dav, you do realize Taelrask assassinated a naked Ygin. I didn't see you shit on Ygin saying it's just "consequences". Ygin was a big time bad ass. Killed everybody. He earned getting whacked at all costs...so I don't blame Taelrask for that kill one bit. Not one bit. Ygin was one of the three chars in the last 10-11 years to have over 100 kills with that kind of pk rating/ratio.(sure I'll toot my horn, the other two are Uvet and Valox btw)...and he's the ONLY char with 200+ kills in that time period. He deserved and earned being killed at all costs....Yet you sit here and say Leraldric, is ok getting whacked naked at a pit because of "consequences"? Unbelievable....
Lalatinia 2 , 0 , 1 . Stephen, love you to tears but don't let your bleeding heart hurt over this guy. He posted a log two months ago about dunking some random shadow without sanctuary. Skilled enough to get into knights, get to 50, get decent gear, and try to solo winter. He was pissed and lost his cool which happens, but mature enough to come back and come after me in the next log. It would be different if he was a newbie, but he isn't. He just needs to work on situational awareness, not spouting off stupid shit(Help insanity), and keeping his sanctuary up. Everyone right now is complaining about not having anything to do in the game. These are the same people that log off when they see Illyiza, Dogran, Rhoa, and now me. Its hilarious. The same people logging off are the same people complaining about "OOC Good Circle Jerk." The same people who have rolled thieves to be as annoying as they can, the same people who rolled paladins because they are strong. This guy taunted me while Justice was in town to attack him after I had recovered from being looted, and immediately logged out when I invaded on him. He deserves every bit of what he gets, and takes it like a champ. Good for him, hes one hell of a troll. I never denied one bit the trashiness of what I did, look at the log. Sometimes you have to just give everyone the big middle finger to let off steam over your frustration at whats going on in this game we all love. You don't like it? Make something to knock it down. I dont even remember Taelrask assassinated Ygin. I have no opinion on either of these characters, they were way after my time. All I remember about Ygin is we had mudfall fully scripted and I was falling asleep and he showed up and pushed my shit in. Like a lot of people have done in mudfall for the last 15 years, but he threw a party over that like it was a big deal. Its like who gives a fuck, really? I dont even bother to flee from mudfall pks, I'm completely nonchalant. It has an irritating script in it that forces you to rejoin your group sometimes. That annoys me more than being pk'd in mudfall. Its one of the top ten most annoying things in the game for me. But breaking character over getting pked is pathetic. Here's my point of view. Youre dying in a room with a description I wrote . Just like I wrote the entire town. A town your thematically a protector of. If I wanted to be free loot return after you die in winter, I would have just put the coffer in the guildhall so you could guild sit. I thought about doing this when I wrote Valour. Really. Taelrask also broke the conduct of the Knights to assassinate Ygin because she was naked and weaponless at the time after Caidolese (one of deadzero/Esivole's characters I believe) had already killed her. There is no honor in attacking an opponent who is completely defenseless, and so he got demoted as a result. So no, I wouldn't say Ygin deserved it at that point. BlackWidow

I didn't know that it was a total full loot at the time, because I didn't look at Ygin, I walked in, hit enter on my qued assas Ygin and killed her. Do I regret it? Not in the least bit. Was it the knight thing to do? Well clearly, I disagreed with whether it was or not. My take at the time, was Ygin is a badass, needs to be destroyed/gone, bane of Serin, etc. Even if I had of known that Ygin had been naked I would have made the same choice because of the above listed reasons. Also, who expects assassinate to land? Taelrask successfully landed three assassinates in his life, and the demotion killed the character for me. Ended up deleting him very shortly after that. I just remember the days when descriptions were such that you couldn’t tell other players what they were feeling or thinking, because that would infringe on someone else’s character agency. I don’t see that enforced anymore. Considering I took a ten year hiatus from this game, was there a reason this level of enforcement was done away with? Ultimately, does it just drive players away, and it was found to not be worth it?

Honestly, I sometimes don't know what goes through you "tough love" people's heads sometimes.
You all probably know I dig the RP stuff, and like to ensure it's usually pretty good for PK jusitifications. And that if we take that as gospel, that a psycho evil bastard probably would stab their helpless enemy lying naked at the emergency department of a hospital.
BUT - there is a clear distinction when you _know_ someone is a n00b/got no chance etc... It makes their fun worse. You know it. This guy didn't give anyone any "danger" he was sitting naked at a pit ffs...
RPing a truly "evil" bastard comes 2nd if you're just going to ruin someone's fun. Please don't be like Latina here, this sucked.
For the record, its a PK game...and that's what I love about it. Fully geared or naked, be ready at ALL times for somebody to attack...don't expect pity.. run, hide, recall. anything... Just be ready. That's part of the game.

Here's all you have to do to be in character - ask yourself this "Does it make sense for my character to do this?". if you're in a cabal saying "youre a piece of trash" to some other level 50 on the newbie chat, the answer is obviously no, its called butthurt, completely out of line and this is going to be another case of completely unacceptable conduct being allowed and pampered.
But what is the difference here. Well for one, Ygin didn’t go straight up OOC and break character that’s for sure. They didn’t spam newbie chat with hate, none of that. Anyway, just my two cents.
One big distinction between a big badass and anyone else is that you know the big badass will just eat the death and move on. They won’t complain. They won’t delete. They will just go equip and come after you and your cabal mates.
Take a more simple and laid back approach. Take a followers role until you gain more experience.

The world of Serin is a cold unforgiving place, its basically Lord of the Flies. Heroes need to be selfless and courageous to rise up and protect it, villains need to be cold-blooded, domineering and powerful to dominate and destroy it.
