Gakemar was birthed to the Gemstone clan. A group of travelling
merchants and miners who sought ore from the corners of the world. His
father Gakulamar, taught him how to chisel and pick away at stone from an
early age. As he grew older the thought of looking for trade in stone for
the rest of his life didnt appease him. He loved mines, yet wanted to trade
with people and their wares. People let loose their money faster than the
earth lets loose its treasures. He always told himself. So on his
eighteenth birthday he left the dwellings of the mines and sought the
civilized people under the sun.
Immediately he found those under the sun harsh toward him. Business was
slow in the northern lands. Rumors of war laid on the mind of many causing
them to be distrustful of outsiders. He traveled and searched for a
community to establish himself as a professional blacksmith, finally finding
himself in a settlement called Tey Logan. There he bought a two story home
and converted the first floor into a smithy shop. Most of the town folk
liked him, with only a few neighbors complaining about the smoke from his
furnace.
He took an apprentice named Halish. A young dwarf who also searched for his
own way of living. He taught the boy how to make horse shoes, how long to
smelt ore before it was just right. Gakemar loved him as his own brother,
even teaching him some of the more arcane ways of the trade. It was during
one of these lessons when a group of soldiers entered his shop. They were
from the front lines of the latest war. Duergars had risen up against
mankind for their usual reason. The mountains they delved in were destroyed
after they took every ounce of wealth out of them and now sought new lands
for greed. Gakemar was more than happy to help the band of soldiers,
mending their armor and handing them a few weapons
Later that night Halish drank in a taverns inn across the road from Gakemars
shop. The soldiers were also drinking there, but Halish didnt say much to
the men. One of them seemed to be shaking and peering at him constantly
from the corner of the room a good distance away. Dranad said one of the
other soldiers to the nervous one. Relax comrade for we are far from the
Duergar lines Dranads head snapped to him. Far? No we are not far they are
all around us. Look over there! There is one spying on us right now! He
stood up, took out a sparkling sword and merely swung it toward Halish. It
produced an arcane wave of energy that travelled across the room, cutting
tables, chars, drinks, until it finally reached Halish. He didnt feel
anything when it hit him. The wave passed cleanly through his waistline
cutting him in two. Then it continued to travel through the wall and
dissipated into the streets.
Immediately Dranads comrades took the blade from his hand, bound him, threw
him on a horse and left Tey Logan before anyone could blink. It wasnt long
before Gakemar found the body of his apprentice. He cried through the
night, tearing away at his beard. The locals were kind to him and did
everything they could to ease his pain, but at times it was too much for
him. How could such a weapon be given to a soldier who suffered from the
stresses of war? He was lucky the Innkeeper survived the incident to tell
him what happened. Gakemar wanted to make a change and refused to stay in
the city any longer. The world needs weapons. But the world doesnt need
ones that are too powerful for us mortals to use. We cant understand them.
We lack the ability to control them. May it be in the eyes of Virgil for me
to find a way. A way to wash them from this earth. With that thought
always in his mind he left Tey Logan and no one in the small town knew what
came of him.
Description:
A long grey fuzzy beard grows to the waist of this fat dwarf. The raven black hair reaches down past his shoulders and stops just before his belt. His skin tone is pale with a black mole above the right side of his mustache. He stands with his back straight as a board. Low words fall from his mouth when he speaks to those near him. A Small purple gem can be seen behind his right ear covered slightly by strands of hair.
blah. just not feeling it. I never thought I would feel too depressed to play a game. ANY game. was affecting my effort with this guy, most of my deaths were afk, cept Szarbac kicked my ass(last month, I'm not deleting because of that.) water vulns also suck, I think weapon advantages should be brought back to where they were, dulls that pain a little. but whatev. I'll make another character...eventually when I feel like I can get behind one.
Seemed very Keeperly in retrospect, though I too didn't know he even was. Why were those tags removed anyways? Just wondering. Hope you feel better and jump back on that Golden Asc'Liena Stallion. ;)
I figured a keeper wouldn't exactly be shouting it from the rooftops that he was one. Tried to keep it low key. Also, no background posted? Was horribly written anyway.
As far as the tags disappearing.. it's back to how they were back around 2004 and prior .. you would find out the hard way who were the Legionairres. Keepers just were caught in that wave. You knew who Warlords, Knights, and Justice were. You probably will have minor difficulty learning who are Keepers until PK comes into play, like Legionairres.
