I enjoyed the hate-hate relationship we had. I try to murder you in your guild.... you swallow your hate enough to grind out a few levels with me. Such a waste. You killed the Forsaken of Legion(who was geared out) 3 levels down and you put in a lot of work training. Guess its AR Hardcore mode though. Hope to see the next one soon.
I think I like deleting characters more than playing them. Good times to all the people I interacted with and I had some fun. Finally beating an elf paladin was pretty much gravy for me as they have been the bane of my existence. Killing Dogran was just dumb luck, I put way too much time into these characters but the effort once I get killed is never there to continue. good luck to you all and have fun.

This might be an off-my-chest rant a bit, and not really in the right place. There is a note circulated about a tournament, and nobody is really signing up. The few interested players are pretty inactive. That definitely frustrates me. I have noticed the level 50s that rank up who want to participate in the tourney, and I have noticed the other 50s (who barely play) seeing that as opportunity to login some overgeared char to bottom feed and pick those players off. Its like, what? You couldnt wait 2 fucking hours, and do that in the tournament? So now I literally view that as manipulating the ratings. I'm fully aware of who does that, and how that contributes to the flatlining tourney. It seems completely correct to me that the Warlord cabal obliterates players who are just ganking, and to say it frankly, do that easily. Because otherwise its playing at a disadvantage because you follow a code of honor and they dont. Its like being a deadly samurai in a realm full of shitty ninja. However, in my mind, the larger problem comes from the players who simply don't care. There's just so much indifference. Its kinda like generally observing a buncha people who dont even watch sports. And that'd be a bigger reason for me to delete than some whatever shaman pk.

As to people giving themselves away it’s mostly about skill level and idiosyncrasies. You get a lot of exposure when ranking. Also when you fight someone for the first time and they beat the pants off of you it’s an obvious sign it’s one of a handful of possible people. Though it could always be three squirrels in a player suit.
I legitimately wanted to be your friend. I’m really sorry for the afk but both times when I was afk I was at work (hence the unpredictability of being attentive/afk). I really didn’t care if I levelled up or not (it would have been smarter to train instead of level). I knew you were having trouble finding groups so I wanted to help you out. Like I said in game, I was trying to help you and wasn’t trying to take advantage of you. I was really glad I could help you make that final push from 47 to 50 because I knew you were already in everybody’s pk range.
We spent a lot of time together and I never tried to guess who was playing Soreko, I didn’t talk to anybody about you outside of the game and I didn’t talk to anybody about gnarble outside of the game (nobody knows who I am teehee).

I have said this in the past, but to be competitive with the cheats and the ooc groups you need equipment. So I will give it a go and make a character that I know I can have success with, but I know that I will get steam rolled if I don't have the right gear. What causes me to delete is the inability to get that equipment without someone being gracious enough to help me. So I deleted Revanse because I wasn't able to kill Xanthak on my own, since people completely alter who they play when an evil is on and the circle jerk continues. I deleted Arzana because fighting as monk is just not for me. I deleted Rhaizo because simple equipment is just not around. For example iron clad rings Josymbra has one, this dude plays maybe once or twice a month. When I had my knight thief Ilromie had like 3 different daggers in their inventory. With Soreko the mal protection bracelets aren't in. I can play every day multiple hours a day and see 3 people log in through the course of the day. And I can't even get simple eq that shit bugs me. I want the shield of tiamat to have against Ilysza nope not there. So how can you stay competitive when people hoard equipment on their alts so it can't be used against them or their friends.
Gnarble I do appreciate you just logging in to give me at least 1 person to damage with, but damn everytime I play and I want to go to winter to be able to have a chance against people who are already supergeared I just can't and thats the part I hate most about this game. It does suck not being able to do things due to low pbase, it’s frustrating as hell. You could always roll good but then you get accused of OOC. It is tough being evil especially because everyone is gunning for you. Build those relationships IC even if someone tries to kill you. I would have helped you gear up if you had stuck it out, but your interactions were all angry and stubborn once I went for you. Our fight had me IC beginning to respect you and the role play indicated this.
This game is so much about IC relationships. If you play a character that is abrasive to everybody you are less likely to make friends and do winter runs. Making friends in game through IC interactions doesn’t automatically make you part of an ooc circle jerk (real or imagined). It sounds like you had a chance to have a decent relationship with Lalatinia - the three of us could have done pretty well in winter I think.
That really sucks that people would hold eq on alts specifically to protect their main char. I wonder if that’s something that could be reported and investigated?
I like to think that people are able to do a good job of separating their characters’ personalities and relationships. For example, one of my other characters was an enemy of Soreko (teehee) but Soreko really was Gnarble’s best friend and Gnarble would have done anything to help you.
Hey I know Arzana! We first met when I asked if you wanted to join me in Shadun since I was already there killing creatures! Helped you gain ranks, gave you a samite gown, and helped you get another item or two. Then you got to 50 and said I must be taken down and die :(
Could have had some fine and dandy adventures together! Monk and a paladin can take down most anything and get you supergeared in no time!
Our second duel was a good close fight! Leopard paws were chiseling me down and before I knew it was at half health and you only barely scratched. Had me on my heels for sure!

My take on this is that you cause this downfall yourself by acting like a prick towards your groups. For example, one time you ran your mudfall group into Marisa unannounced, attacked it, almost mobdeathed your group's illusionist, got what you wanted (gown of samite) and quit out. This was after you deciding that group sucked. My opinion is you are a vampire and you should be be very content with playing one. So why dont you go ahead and roll about 30 of those and we can sort out whatever problem is keeping you dissatisfied with this game via repairing the class that clearly suits your playstyle best

I haven't been playing in awhile so I missed this entire character Ozaru. I read the logs before coming here though and I gotta say I was definitely surprised by that Dogran kill. Good to see him trip over his own feet. lmao.
And Dav, the tournaments thing is such a cool idea and has lots of potential, but I gave up on it as Thoom because no one gives a shit and organizing them is impossible. I held the one, to minor success, and then never did another because I knew it would just end up being a joke. Sounds like you know how I felt then, judging by how sour having your tourney-baby ignored has made you feel. I empathize buddy.

Acting like a prick towards my groups? 99% of the time I am leading ranking groups and tanking because i make characters that can tank so I don't have to wait around for one. I vaguely remember this incident and I am pretty sure you have your facts wrong. If I would have attacked Marisa it would have been with Arzana and if the illusionist almost died its because Marisa switches targets. I wouldn't just go from Mudfall to emerald without saying anything. If you are pissed that I made two warlords and deleted early when each character had a chance to impact the game the way you wanted sure I get that call me out for that. BUt making up stuff with groups and quitting out just didn't happen. Pretty sure everyone here can say that when it comes to ranking you want me in your group because I make life a lot easier.

Too bad about this delete. I thought Soreko would be a contender after seeing the Dogran fight. Try to make friends in game and you will have a totally different experience Ozaru. Or follow dav’s advice and go with the vamp that thrives solo. Or go with what inspires you. Playing a non caballed character can be extremely liberating too so you could give that a shot for fun.

Well, one thing I do remember happening between Ozaru and Xenyar... After Xenyar deleted Valox he said he thought one of Ozaru's characters was Mico (or was it the other way around?), and some time after that I remember messaging one of Ozaru's aliases on invokation and accusing him of being Dispater (Mico's alias at the time).
From what I recall, Ozaru got upset with me, stated he wasn't Dispater and even listed all his characters up to that point on invokation... I think now is a good time to apologize for that, even though it has been years since the incident in question. I shouldn't have been parroting somebody else and talking about stuff I knew nothing about. I'm sorry, Ozaru, for that past behavior, and hope you realize that there are people on AR who like you.

Anyways, when you create a character and invest your time in it everyone who plays with you is investing time in their character as well as you. I didn't invest anytime in this one because I only have Dogran, but I did invest in your last two legion attempts. You give people a chance to roleplay with you and build something bigger and then take it away when you delete as fast as you do. As it is, I understand I used to delete a lot more often, and heck I probably still do to some extent. My challenge to you is to make something plan for some serious depth and stick it out for at least six months. Win, loss, looted, whatever just build something for people to interact with and have fun. You know how many times I have had to refit? More than ten times, and my mistakes fighting you when I really shouldn't of been logged in in the first place was another. Still I dust off and continue I recommend you do the same.

I like to think that people are able to do a good job of separating their characters’ personalities and relationships. For example, one of my other characters was an enemy of Soreko (teehee) but Soreko really was Gnarble’s best friend and Gnarble would have done anything to help you.

Could have had some fine and dandy adventures together! Monk and a paladin can take down most anything and get you supergeared in no time!
Our second duel was a good close fight! Leopard paws were chiseling me down and before I knew it was at half health and you only barely scratched. Had me on my heels for sure!

And Dav, the tournaments thing is such a cool idea and has lots of potential, but I gave up on it as Thoom because no one gives a shit and organizing them is impossible. I held the one, to minor success, and then never did another because I knew it would just end up being a joke. Sounds like you know how I felt then, judging by how sour having your tourney-baby ignored has made you feel. I empathize buddy.

Too bad about this delete. I thought Soreko would be a contender after seeing the Dogran fight. Try to make friends in game and you will have a totally different experience Ozaru. Or follow dav’s advice and go with the vamp that thrives solo. Or go with what inspires you. Playing a non caballed character can be extremely liberating too so you could give that a shot for fun.

No one does that shit on the log boards, I know who plays Dogran, whenever bladefurry plays a char I know who it is but I don't make subtle comments to out them, no one does that shit. You chose to do it and it fucked my entire game experience up. I don't care about your apology, you ruined the one character I wanted to keep 99% of the time I really don't care about characters especially when i die. Don't act like you don't know what you did and like I said whenever I roll a character that fire i had to play just isn't there. I can train rank and fight have a good time but when I get killed its just meh. After Xenyar deleted Valox he said he thought one of Ozaru's characters was Mico (or was it the other way around?), and some time after that I remember messaging one of Ozaru's aliases on invokation and accusing him of being Dispater (Mico's alias at the time).

Anyways, when you create a character and invest your time in it everyone who plays with you is investing time in their character as well as you. I didn't invest anytime in this one because I only have Dogran, but I did invest in your last two legion attempts. You give people a chance to roleplay with you and build something bigger and then take it away when you delete as fast as you do. As it is, I understand I used to delete a lot more often, and heck I probably still do to some extent. My challenge to you is to make something plan for some serious depth and stick it out for at least six months. Win, loss, looted, whatever just build something for people to interact with and have fun. You know how many times I have had to refit? I think now is a good time to apologize for that, even though it has been years since the incident in question. I shouldn't have been parroting somebody else and talking about stuff I knew nothing about. I'm sorry, Ozaru, for that past behavior, and hope you realize that there are people on AR who like you.
