Vargan was born into poverty. From his early life the young halfling was
miserable, suffering a difficult, harsh environment. The last thing this
young man recalled was a sack which hit him over the head, wielded by their
landlord who had first struck his mother several times. He felt rejected
and unwanted due to the constant arguing between his mother and father.
Vulnerable to those feelings, he was constantly bullied at preschool and for
the first few grades he achieved. The feeling of being always unsecure led
the youngster to live in solitude, both mentally and physically, sometimes
reaching an astral-like dimension in his thoughts. He began to steal and
pick up things that others considered trash. From dumpster to dumpster he
used a set of lockpicks to memorize the sequence and timing of the lock
mechanism. Through countless nights and days, surviving in this harsh
world, Vargan has become what he is today: A mellow, yet hard drinking
individual with an introvert's perspective on the political landscape of
Serin.
The Adventure
Raindrops hit the ground and washes away the dirt only to renew it with
another dirt. Vargan has become elderly now and the traveling has left him
scarred and wrinkled somewhat. He drags his feet more and more as the age
become to take its own. The surroundings around him has grown blurred, yet
still vivid enough to stand up and support himself. His eyes are not the
same as before so he only rely on his old senses and skills that helped him
this far. Most of the time he is still and trying to save energy enough to
be swift and agile as once young. Shadows around him grow darker in time as
he is becoming older aswell. He walks in the shadows with an ease, knowing
almost every corner and rooftops what used to fill his heart with bliss. A
man from the city of Timaran he is and the knowledge he holds may not be
much, yet he holds clear mind enough to still survive. He is not the young
thief anymore that used to hunt everything and everbody, yet the virtue of a
rogue still is preserved well enough in his soul. Vargan is happy to live
through the process of nature and knows well, that another day could be his
last. Blinded by greed once he now rather give more to ones that are
friendly to him and let him be. Once he is ready and rested he can still do
trickery and stealing nimble enough since the practice endured.
Deluge of Water
As the vultures flying overhead the small man, trying to catch a fish..
It starts to pour even more rain. He peers around himself and breathes
heavily as he is in desperate need of a cane support. The halfling looks
wrinkled and unappetizing, rotten almost to the core, skin has turned to
grey. Vargan is an old man clearly and the age is slowly, but steady
shrinking him into a spongelike mass. Often seen in Timaran and elsewhere
in the lands he keeps devoting himself to his great goddess Vevier. Devoted
to highest rank of exaltation. Vargan is a humble old patron who quit
drinking few years ago by now, peppermint tea he seems to enjoy. As long
time eternal serving patron he is.. Time is biting hard and harder the
concentration and overall state of mind. At more mature age Vargan has
discovered how fun it is to catch fish from nearby waters, sometimes even
reel in treasures. He enjoys hard weather and is an avid outdoorsman, dirty
feet is often disliked in some places so he brings slippers now with him.
Vargan has seems to have found himself the way he is and halfling can be..
Near the thickly burbling stream which cuts through the mountain he likes to
spend his final hour.. Listening to the sound of the waterfall.
Description:
A middle-aged halfling, about four feet tall emerges into the view, as
musky odors permeate his being and distinctly announce his presence. His
face is heavily weathered and gouged with wilderness, dramatically heralding
intense emotions through his eyes. A twitching glare buried deep within his
fiery orange eyes shade from light to dark as he breathes. Where his ears
should be, are mere cropped nubs that have healed over, likely a childhood
deformity. Sprouting oddly from atop of his bald head he bears a tightly
woven braid of coarse, thick black hair, flailed into several braids, lying
unbridled about his back. Despite his short and slender legs, he supports
himself on two abnormally large and dirty feet. A strange looking leather
sack is noticable under it's sleeve as the halfling steps out from the
shadows.
I just felt it was like time to go.. since i did not achive my goal becoming a high patron after a year of being online and there.. so the best choice was a suicide, I am sorry Asara and Valindra.. but the lack of willpower and holding onto me.. I just could not find any treasure nor willpower to continue after aged so well.. It is too late i guess not to say something.. but I achieved my goal what I wanted.. I doubt i will never return into such a toxic environment again.. Thanks again who liked me.. I am just done with that hierarchy... rather than care for players they try to invent sounds.. my god.. It is what it is.. I hope somewhat my death is a learning point for all who try to be different and not be a pug dog for one.. sad, yet it was a wise choice for me to do.. Finally I can get some rest!

I watched you transform from a soft spoken patron, relentless in his goal to support the heralds to the whirlwind (pun intended) criminal thief. In the end, to be expertly air, you need to be individual and driven. You had both traits in spades.
I also want to note that we now have the ability to grant permanent patronage and Vargan was the first to receive this honor, during his lifetime. Not sure if this is implemented for the High Herald yet, but Imm-tervention is an option.

One of my goals was to become the oldest halfling after defeating Ilromie by age I thought was impossible then.. then after putting so much effort into it I decided to take it to the condead since it is so rare to endure a full cycle. Several times I wanted to end it myself.. once got pulled back from already paralized. It was my first condead also, even as being an old veteran almost.. 20 years within the realm and years off. I still remember quite vivid how it all started somewhere back at 2000's, but that is a long story.. I definetly will not become stranger since, I got few more left on my account. I did not use much training boost, but trained myself till the end. Quite hard to train some of the thief skillset, but it was overall enjoyable and glad I made it that far with Vargan. Can't thank you all enough for the support and nice words it all have now seem to be have become a reward to read.
Oh no! Cursed fate! I'll never get that interview reflecting on 100 years for the Mystique now...

I had many great interactions over a few toons Vargan, And I was honestly concerned about the person behind the keyboard more than once! I checked because so many have falsified. Not this time. That was actually a legit con-death. No suicide on priest malarkey, and nothing looks like any effort to speed it along, just a buncha accumulated winter death and getting pk'ed at 50. What a run. Damn, Varg. You condied real.

It is slightly disturbing to read 6 months old comments when I was drinking hard and saying things.. I literally was wasted every night, till now in recent I am sober for 2-3 months now..
I drank so much alcohol I can never drink again, even one sip will land me back to hospital.
Also I wanted to point out that I was pushing myself to the limits, since it was hard to attend events from different timezone, waking up 4 or 5 o'clock in the morning.
One thing is for sure, I will not make another patron again soon, I wanted to belong to an organization that have atleast some meaning in life, but it seemed to be just ..a title.
My duty was to assist heralds with gold, some other tasks, but in the end I started to donate to another cabal and just other players. It is just from my point of view.
Being the first one to be granted eternal patronage is cool, but it seems to made little impact after time invested into, not even mentioning in title later.
One of my background stories is blank and I was asking for it to removed or how to, but I guess It is just there.. blank and duplicated entry from ages ago.
The helpfile say become a patron if you want to belong to a bigger organization, but there was just me alone mostly, I guess other players already knew that it is only a stepping stone for becoming a herald later once having the status.
I wanted to change it, but to no avail much as i wished to.
Overall I am still pleased that I made it to notables and it all is being compensated now by reading that things weren't that bad at all for Vargan, positive words and cheers will make me try another one on my next journey, but I seriously doubt I will ever going to make near such playtime or otherwise near.
