I was but a child when I was ripped from the clutches of my father and
forced to work in a silver mine. Savage beasts kidnapped me and forced
children of all races to work in these mines for their profit and amusement.
These barbarians would take bets on us to see who would produce the most
silver or die first from the toxic fumes. Many brave souls among us who
tried to fight back and kill their way to freedom, but no one ever
succeeded. Before my very eyes I saw a young dwarf warrior proud from the
teachings of his father, graze a man with his tiny axe, and was crushed
under a huge mace wielded by a giant stone servant. Many of us worked in
terror, our spirits broken, but I knew I could escape. Although our captors
were intelligent they were disgustingly lazy, leaving dumb giants to guard
us was an enormous mistake. As I grew older in the mines I began to learn
to adapt to my surroundings. I became adept harnessing my inner energy to
find peace within my surroundings. I created a distraction by throwing my
pick axe behind one giant and ran through his legs. I hid in the forest
while they searched for me. In their anger they began to slay multiple
beasts, my blood began to boil but I knew better to keep hidden. Those
terrible men finally left the forest and I buried the animals and sat to
meditate on the evil I had seen. I came across a stream in a large town and
decided to take up residence near the forest. With a new home and a new
found strength I decided to begin my search to find my family in hopes to
rebuild my life.
You're a bit too harsh on yourself. I had no idea this was you. You played well and you played tenaciously. I really dug all of the duels you were in and I think you should have just stuck with it. Be that as it may, you did well and good luck on the next one.
I don't think he meant it as an insult to either of you. He was letting you know that he didn't "have you pegged" as you put it. I thought Koivu was pretty solid. I'm surprised you picked now to delete.
that is one thing that makes monks unique, the idea that you can't just grab any armor and go. I personally like that about them. Also slightly surprised about the delete.
FWIW the way I interpreted Ergorion's comment was that he was surprised Koivu was a Keeper based on the fact Keepers have no visible flags in the Who list anymore and therefore the GY was the first he knew of Koivu's cabal affiliation. *shrug*
It was cool to see you branch out from rangers and try something new.
I'm fine with the living wood becoming a "light" armor type. Its bark. Bark is flexible and less protective than regular wood. So I made the change to light armor. The dark oak though - is NOT bark. We should consider how we can use engrave and displayed tattoos to complete treant thews. The tattoos can cover hands/arm/legs/torso but not headgear.
monks are not hard, adjusting to combat styles was not hard. takes a day to figure out the logic behind things and takes another day to fully utilize the class' potential.
some people just refuse to learn and give up instead. from what i have seen, monks have amazing potential to be real badass in pk, too bad that it takes people a goddamn month to learn something new...come on, seriously?
